When I started running a little over a year ago I was constantly looking for encouragement and reinforcement in the difficult task of becoming a runner. I was able to time my workouts and I had a rough idea of the distances I was covering but rarely did I think about my pace. At that point my pace was really the last of my worries but I needed a way to track my workouts and progress to keep motivated. I browsed the standard group of running and fitness apps, reading the reviews and downloading the ones that seemed decent.
runtastic spurred my interest and kept me coming back for a number of reasons. Perhaps most importantly, I love the interface – it’s simple and straight forward and allows me to start a workout within seconds of grabbing my phone. It also allows me to easily start and stop a workout while having my phone in an armband. The icons on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen make the app very easy to navigate and allow me to immediately view my workout without having to upload the information to a computer. runtastic has been a huge help in motivating me to run further and longer – I even ran my first half marathon this year!
