Nice app just what I needed. I don’t run. But I do cycle and mountain bike and I love the way it tracks my progress and saves it.

I am not a world class runner, but I wanted an app to track my progress in order to keep me motivated. i have tried several of the “tracking” types of apps, with mixed results. I kept on going back to the Nike+ app that is bundled with the iPhone and the transponder in the sneaker. Problem is, Nike+ is not a true GPS tracker, it is a merely a relatively accurate distance/time calculation program.

Along comes RUNASTIC PRO. I tried it out today expecting more of the “same-same”. Boy am I glad I didn’t just pass it by. Forget all the rediculous 1-star ratings by people who allegedly couldn’t “register” due to a glitch (beta software). The developer pointed this out both on the website and documentation. i had no problem getting set up on the site after the first error message, and the software performed beautifully. It is great to hear a vioce pump in over your music as you hit mileage markers, and the GPS tracking was spot on!! I didn’t even know that it provided a visual map of your track post run, but it does, and it is dead on accurate (NOTE: If your running path takes numerous turns like mine, set GPS sampling to highest level for most accurate tracking). The Nike+ app cannot compete with it (I did run the two apps together as well as itunes music without any problems between the 3 apps). When I got home, I looked up the Runtastic Pro website and my data was already uploaded, again seamlessly. There are also a number of different performance metrics and BMI calculations etc provided on the site. This will now be my primary running program in the future hands down.

I felt I had to stop by and write this review after reading some stupid 1-star comment slams of people who allegedly were not smart enough to try registering twice. My guess is that the 1 line reviews are from other app developers, but of course I am speculating. Any serious (or beginner) should find this to be a stellar program for running, walking biking, etc.
